Mr. David Howell

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what pension increase is available for those drawing the Over 80 pension on 1st July.

Mr. O'Malley

With effect from the first pension pay day in the week commencing 22nd July 1974, the rate of old persons' pensions for those over 80 will be increased from £4.90 a week to £6.25. The rate for married women will be increased from £3.10 to £3.95. These rates include the 25p age allowance.
