asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the total number of indictable crimes committed by children of 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 years, respectively, for 1970, 1971, 1972, and 1973 respectively.

Mr. Carlisle

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the total number of indictable crimes committed by children of ages 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16, respectively, for the last quarter for which figures are available; and how these figures compare with those for the similar quarter of the previous year.

It is not possible to say how many offences are committed by persons of particular age groups because of the offences that are not cleared up. The available information, which relates to whole years, is as follows:
