asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) if he will seek clarification of the recent submission of the Government of the Irish Republic that the courts of the Republic have the right to exercise jurisdiction over Northern Ireland ;

(2) if he will seek clarification of the recent submission of the Government of the Irish Republic that it has the right to exercise jurisdiction over Northern Ireland ;

(3) if he will seek clarification of the recent submission of the Government of the Irish Republic that his Government has no right to impose British nationality or citizenship on the people of Northern Ireland ;

(4) in the light of the Sunningdale agreement, if he will seek clarification of the official submission of the Government of the Irish Republic that it does not acknowledge Northern Ireland, reaffirm that Northern Ireland could not be reintegrated into the national territory until or unless a majority of the people of Northern Ireland indicated a wish to become part of a united Ireland, and make clear in the new circumstances his policy towards signing the agreement ;

(5) in the light of the Sunningdale agreement, if he will seek clarification of the recent submission of the Government of the Irish Republic that it does not recognise Northern Ireland as part of the United Kingdom.

No. Her Majesty's Government's position on the status of Northern Ireland has been frequently stated and Parliament has made it clear in Section 1 of the Northern Ireland Constitution Act 1973.
