§ Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make representations on safety grounds to the United States authorities with regard to low flashpoint fuel for British airlines operating out of the United States of America.
§ Mr. OnslowI am advised by the Civil Aviation Authority that although the additional risk arising from the use of JP4 (wide-cut gasolene) as against JP1 (aviation kerosene) is only marginal, it148W recommends that United Kingdom airlines should wherever possible use JP1 in preference to JP4. Our preference for the use of JP1 is being brought to the attention of the United States authorities.
