§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what expansion has taken place in the number of places for veterinary undergraduates in the past 10 years; and what expansion is contemplated by 1981.
§ Mr. RaisonTotal enrolments on undergraduate veterinary courses in Great Britain rose from 1,173 in 1961–62 to 1,237 in 1971–72, an increase of 5.5 per cent. Provision up to 1981 will no doubt be influenced by the recommendations of the committee of inquiry into the veterinary profession whose report is expected later this year.
