§ Mrs. MacDonaldasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is satisfied that foreign crew members of the accommodation ships in Nigg Bay are subject to effective health examinations.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellCrew members of the accommodation ships in Nigg Bay are seamen in transit and as such are not subject to medical examination by the immigration authorities. I am satisfied that if a crew member falls ill effective medical treatment is provided. Following the recent diagnosis of tuberculosis in a seaman the local hospital arranged as a precautionary measure for the other members of the ship's crew to be X-rayed.
