HC Deb 19 December 1974 vol 883 c592W
Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what arrangements have been made for financing the Police Fund which was set up by the Northern Ireland Government for the benefit of the widows and dependants of members of the RUC and RUC Reserve killed as a result of terrorist activity in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Merlyn Rese

It has for some years been a custom of the Government of Northern Ireland to make a contribution out of the Northern Ireland Consolidated Fund to the Police Fund and also to the Army Benevolent Fund. I consider it appropriate to continue this practice. A further grant of £30,000 is, therefore, being made to the Police Fund from the Northern Ireland Consolidated Fund and a grant of £15,000 to the Army Benevolent Fund.
