47. Mr. Crowther

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is aware that the Pinner Sea Cadet Committee's appeal against the refusal by the Hillingdon Council of the application for planning permission to erect a new head quarters on a site in Chestnut Avenue, Northwood, has been outstanding since 26th February 1974 and that the delay is adding to the cost of the proposed building; if he will expedite his decision; and when he expects it to be announced.

This appeal is being dealt with on the basis of written submissions and a visit to the site by an inspector. There was some delay in obtaining necessary information from the council concerned but all the necessary formalities have now been completed and my right hon. Friend hopes to issue his decision shortly.
