Mr. Geraint Howells

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many registered employed persons in Ceredigion on 1st December 1974 were (a) males and (b) females.

Mr. Booth

At June 1973, the latest date for which figures are available, there were 11,700 males and 7,100 females employed in the area covered by Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Lampeter and Llandyssul local offices, which broadly corresponds to Ceredigion.

On 11th November 1974, 878 males and 136 females were unemployed in the area covered by the Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Lampeter and Llandyssul employment offices, which broadly corresponding to Ceredigion.
