Q20. Mr. Norman Lamont

asked the Prime Minister whether he will make a statement on his meeting with the West German Chancellor on 1st December.

The Prime Minister

My talks with Herr Schmidt on 30th November and 1st December were extremely useful. We were able to examine in depth the main problems which we all face: the fight against unemployment and inflation, and the complex international financial situation created by the increase in the price of oil. We also of course discussed European Community questions, including our own renegotiation objectives.
