§ Mrs. Bainasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many postgraduate places were provided in each faculty at each Scottish university over each of the last 10 years.
§ Mr. PrenticeSince 1965–66 university statistics have been compiled by standard subject groups rather than by faculties. The figures for 1972–73, the most recent available, are given below. Corresponding data for the academic years 1966–67 to 1971–72 are in Volume 6 of the annual "Statistics of Education", and figures for earlier years are in the annual "Returns from Universities and University Colleges". Copies of these publications are available in the Library.
