asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on what adjustments would be required by NATO's Nuclear Planning Group in view of his statement of 3rd December.

The NATO Nuclear Planning Group and its work are in no way affected by my right hon. Friend's statement of 3rd December.

As my right hon. Friend explained on 3rd December, we are confident that our defence review proposals are such that we shall continue to play a full part in preserving the strategy and cohesion of the NATO Alliance.
