§ Mr. Hurdasked the Secretary of State for the Environment at what intervals the Layfield Committee is now meeting.
§ Mr. OakesI understand that the inquiry currently sits in full committee fortnightly. Members attend meetings of sub-committees more frequently. The committee is still taking written evidence, and will be meeting frequently in 1975 to consider it and hear oral evidence. This is an extremely heavy load on people who already have heavy commitments and I am very grateful to them for the time they are devoting to the inquiry. The committee has been asked to report by the end of 1975.
§ Mr. Michael Morrisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he is prepared to include an ordinary domestic ratepayer as a member of the Layfield Committee.
§ Mr. OakesNone of the members has been appointed to represent any interest or organisation, but of course these members who are householders are also domestic ratepayers.
