§ Mr. Michael Morrisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will consider easing the yardstick approval for converting large single family dwellings into two flats.
§ Mr. KaufmanThe cost yardstick system does not apply to conversions of properties owned by local authorities. As from 4th December 1974 the eligible expense limits on improvement grants to private owners for converting suitable properties was increased for each resultant dwelling to £3,200 from £2,000 or to £3,700 from £2,400 in cases where a building of more than three storeys is converted.
