asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to revise superannuation arrangements for Scottish teachers.

The Scottish Teachers' Superannuation Scheme has been substantially revised recently to incorporate improvements recommended by the Working Party on Teachers' Superannuation. Further changes in the scheme may be required as a consequence of legislation to implement the social security proposals outlined in Cmnd. 5713.
