HC Deb 12 December 1974 vol 883 c255W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether the scheme for the provision of traffic signals at Barnton roundabout proposed by Edinburgh Corporation and originally approved by the Scottish Development Department is to be implemented; and, if so, when.

Mr. William Ross

Traffic flow at junctions like this can often be improved without imposing the delays associated with traffic lights, and a possible scheme has been suggested to Edinburgh Corporation. No decision will be taken on the corporation's proposal for traffic signals until the alternative has been fully considered.
