asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection whether she will seek the standardisation of glass containers, with a view to encouraging their reuse.

As already announced, the Waste Management Advisory Council is being set up to examine ways of promoting the reclamation of waste. The standardisation of containers will be the subject of one of its first tasks.
