§ Mrs. Jegerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what special assistance he is giving to local education authorities in areas where many Cypriot refugee children have arrived.
§ Mr. ArmstrongA request from one local education authority for assistance in providing school accommodation for Cypriot children of secondary age is under urgent consideration. No other requests have been received. Applications for grants towards the cost of employing additional teachers and other educational staff and for the provision of teaching equipment are being considered by the 115W Home Office in consultation with my Department.
