§ Mr. FreesonSubstantial financial help in housing is already available to local authorities through subsidies and grants, including rate support grant. So far as resources and existing powers permit, I will consider proposals from hard-pressed local authorities, including those to whose areas new arrivals from Cyprus have16W gone. My Department is always willing to help the authorities concerned and to take up points of difficulty or concern.
