asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will investigate the political composition of the South West Economic Planning Council.

Mr. Crosland

The terms of office of all members of all economic planning councils expire this year and I have therefore to review the composition of all councils. The members will continue to be appointed as individuals and not as delegates or representatives of particular interests but to be widely representative of different types of experience within a region.
