§ Mr. Newensasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what changes he envisages in policies for new towns in respect of the ratio between houses for rent and houses for sale, in respect of the sale of houses to sitting tenants, and in respect of the transfer of assets to local authorities or other agencies or interests.
§ Mr. John SilkinI have all these policies under examination and I shall be making statements on them in due course. I have asked the English new town development corporations and the Commission for the New Towns, in the meantime, to avoid fresh commitments which might prejudice that examination.
