asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when he expects the EEC directive for feeding stuffs to be amended to permit the use of hormones and arsenical additives in animal feeding stuffs.

Mr. Moyle

As I explained in my reply to the hon. Member for Guildford (Mr. Howell) on 2nd April—[Vol. 871, c. 325] —hormonal and arsenical additives are at present permitted in feeding stuffs in the United Kingdom and we are pressing for their inclusion in the EEC Feed Additives Directive. There are to be detailed discussions and I cannot say when a decision will be reached.
