asked the Secretary of State for Trade how many companies are current subscribers to the Export Intelligence Service of the British Overseas Trade Board; and what is the current annual expenditure of this project.

Mr. Deakins

There are 5,576 current subscriptions from companies which together account for around three-quarters of the country's visible exports. The net cost to the exchequer is £800,000 p.a.
