§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) what has been the total cost to the Department of the services and expenses of Mr. Skillington and his staff during the period of his appointment as Housing Commissioner at Clay Cross; and whether this sum is to be paid to the Secretary of State by the local authority, in accordance with Part IX, Section 96(7) of the Housing Finance Act 1972;
(2) what was the monthly salary paid to Mr. Skillington during the period of his appointment as Housing Commissioner at Clay Cross;
(3) what was the cost to the Department of the special accommodation used by Mr. Skillington in Chesterfield after the Clay Cross council staff refused him accommodation in Clay Cross.
§ Mr. FreesonThe expenses and remuneration of the Housing Commissioner for Clay Cross up to 29th March 1974 amounted to £7,528.44½. Of this, £1,340 represents the commissioner's remuneration on a daily fee basis and £459.68 the cost of the office accommodation. As required by the Housing Finance Act 1972, payment of the amount has been demanded of the local authority.
§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much was collected in rent increases by Mr. Skillington and his staff during the period of his tenure of office.
