HC Deb 04 April 1974 vol 871 c442W
Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he intends to take action to implement the recommendations of the Melville Report on Training of Staff for Centres for the Mentally Handicapped.

Mr. William Ross

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave on 29th March to my hon. Friend the Member for West Lothian (Mr. Dalyell).—[Vol. 871, c.229.]

Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will initiate an inquiry into the lack of community facilities for mentally handicapped children.

Mr. William Ross

A general inquiry does not seem necessary, but I am aware of the need to improve these facilities.
