asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food when the additional calf subsidy announced on 25th March will come into effect; and at what age calves will be eligible.

As my right hon. Friend announced on 25th March, the calf subsidy is being increased by £10 per calf. The detailed arrangements for paying this additional subsidy are under consideration and I hope to be able to make a further statement in the very near future.
