§ 100. Mr. Spriggs
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is his policy with regard to the transport of heavy loads of toxic chemicals, and other dangerous loads, by road transport; and if he will make a statement.
§ Dr. Summerskill
Regulations have been made under the Petroleum (Consolidation) Act 1928 controlling the conveyance by road of a wide range of dangerous chemicals, and it is my right hon. Friend's intention to extend these controls to toxic substances as soon as possible. In addition, there are arrangements for providing the emergency services with immediate advice on the hazards involved.
