HC Deb 02 April 1974 vol 871 cc343-4W
Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will clear the river block of Somerset House of its present users for an extension of the projected British Theatre Museum;

(2) if he will clear the river block of Somerset House of its present users and open it for public use.

Mr. Charles R. Morris

I have no such plans. Members of the public can already be shown round the river block on application to the Property Services Agency.

Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will open the river terrace of Somerset House as a public promenade;

(2) if he will clear the central courtyard of Somerset House of parked cars and open it for public use.

Mr. Charles R. Morris

I am considering studies which have recently been completed and will make an announcement as soon as possible.
