§ Mr. Harry Ewingasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will seek to ascertain from Scottish local authorities information that will show the total rent arrears figure to the nearest date and also the rent arrears figure at the month end before the introduction of the Housing Finance (Scotland) Act 1972.
§ Mr. William RossThis information is not kept centrally and I understand that not all local authorities would be able to provide the information. There are indications, however, that rent arrears have been rising. If there is any specific information which my hon. Friend requires I shall be glad to try to obtain it.
