HC Deb 02 April 1974 vol 871 cc336-7W
Mr. Corrie

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many brucellosis breakdowns there have been in Ayrshire in the past 12 months; how this compares with the previous 12 months; and how many farms have broken down more than once and more than twice, respectively.

Mr. William Ross

During the year ended 31st December 1973, 75 accredited herds in Ayrshire have become infected with brucellosis, a breakdown rate of 6 per cent., as compared with 42 herds—5 per cent.—during the year ended 31st December 1972; 10 herds have each had two breakdowns and one herd has had three.
