asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will take steps to encourage the provision of more State boarding education.

Mr. Armstrong

Her Majesty's inspectors are engaged in a preliminary study of boarding facilities at maintained secondary schools and expect to complete it this year. My right hon. Friend will consider in the light of its findings whether any further action should be taken.
