Places will be available at Aireborough Grammar and Guiseley Secondary, which will be comprehensive schools by September 1974. Burley children transfer to middle school at age 9 and to upper school at age 13. The estimated numbers at age 13, again as provided by the West Riding education authority, are 42, 63, 57, 58 respectively. Places will be available at Ilkley Upper School. The provision of maintained school places for these children will be the responsibility of the Bradford Metropolitan District from April 1974.
