§ Mr. Russell Johnstonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will seek to have funds currently available to developing countries from the European Investment Bank placed under the control of the Commission.
§ Mr. WoodThe use of funds from the European Investment Bank at present available to developing countries is governed by arrangements made before Britain joined the European Economic Community. I believe that the bank will continue to have a valuable rôle in helping to provide the funds needed in the future for the Community's programmes of development co-operation with the Third World. The respective functions of the bank and the Commission will be a matter for consultation when new funds or programmes are established.
