§ Mr. Stratton Millsasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the total sum which has been spent on the Maze Prison to the latest convenient date; and what plans are envisaged for extending the prison.
§ Mr. Peter MillsThe total recorded expenditure on the provision of accommodation and related works services at the Maze Prison up to 14th September 1973 was £2,684,017 but a number of claims in respect of completed and partly completed contracts are outstanding. When such claims are brought to account it is expected that the total amount expended will be about £3,300,000.
There are no plans at present for any further extensions at the prison.
