§ Mr. Shersbyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will detail in the OFFICIAL REPORT the number of baby seals culled in each of the last three years for which figures are available and the method used for their slaughter.
§ Mr. LaneUnder licences issued under the Conservation of Seals Act 1970, there were killed in 1971 300 common seal pups, in 1972 380 common seal pups and 575 grey seal juveniles and pups, and in 1973 380 common seal pups. The licensed method of killing was by shooting by rifle.
