§ Mr. Oakesasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what percentage of fuel duty is at present rebated to passenger transport operators under 32W Section 9 of the Finance Act 1961, as amended by Section 33 of the Transport Act 1968 ; and what representations he has received about the proposed ending of such rebate.
§ Mr. PeytonThe sum approved for grant under Section 92 of the Finance Act 1965, as amended, is at present 12½p per gallon. This is about 55 per cent. of the fuel duty of 22½p. I am not aware of any proposal to end the rebate and have received no representations on this subject.
