§ 39. Mr. Willeyasked the Minister for the Civil Service whether he will make a statement on the provision of Civil Service catering facilities and, in particular, whether that service is provided at a profit or a loss.
§ Mr. Kenneth BakerCivil Service staff restaurants are provided where numbers and inadequacy of alternative facilities justify them. The declared aim is that staff should be able to obtain a good mid-day meal in pleasant surroundings at a reasonable price. The restaurants are expected to break even after the Government provide for such things as heat, light, accommodation, equipment and special operating circumstances.
