§ Mr. Gordon CampbellThe rephasing of public building works announced by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 8th October applies to the school building programme. Broadly the effect will be to defer contracts which would otherwise have been placed between early October and the end of December. Existing contracts are not affected. Arrangements designed to produce an orderly resumption of new orders on the construction industry after the end of the year will be announced as soon as possible.
