240WMembers will be entitled to receive (a) attendance allowance (under Section 173) for the performance of approved duties for their councils; and (b) travelling and subsistence allowances (under Section 174) at such rates, and in accordance with such conditions, as will be prescribed by the Secretary of State.
The maximum daily rate of attendance allowance has to be prescribed by my right hon. and learned Friend, and an announcement about this rate will be made as soon as possible.
