Mr. Russell Johnston

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many individuals received redundancy payments per annum in terms of the Redundancy Payments Act in each of the last five years; what was the net cost of such payments to employers after Redundancy Fund rebates had been deducted; and how many of those receiving redundancy payments registered as unemployed and what was the average length of their unemployment.

The number of employees in respect of whom payments were made from the Redundancy Fund and the net cost to employers after deduction of those payments was:
