§ Mr. ChatawayThe Government welcome investment from abroad, especially in the assisted areas. Over the last year my Department, in consultation with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, has increased its efforts to secure such investment. Among EEC countries, we have been most active in West Germany, which I have visited twice and plan to46W visit again in a few weeks' time. Development councils representing the various assisted areas are active also in EEC countries in close association with the Department.
