§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his cuts in expenditure on public building projects of £15 million during the year 1974–75 will affect the national museums and galleries; and, if so, which institutions and what fractions of the total sum are involved.
§ Mr. St. John-StevasI have been asked to reply to this Question.
The amount of the saving on the national museums and galleries capital programme is about £1 million. This involves a deferment of the project for restaurants, temporary exhibition galleries and administrative accommodation at the British Museum. My noble Friend the Paymaster-General has written to the Trustees of the Museum.
