§ 21. Mr. Peter Reesasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will set on foot a review of all assessments to tax currently under appeal which relate to years prior to 1955–56, with a view to seeking to have them set down for hearing at the earliest opportunity.
§ Mr. Patrick JenkinThe Inland Revenue does not hold a central record of such assessments. It is standard practice to set down for hearing those appeals that cannot be resolved by negotiation.
