HL Deb 22 May 1973 vol 342 c1189WA
LORD HYLTON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether arrangements can be made to enable approved residential institutions, e.g. hospitals, old people's homes, Cheshire Homes, etc., to buy surplus foodstuffs, such as butter and dried milk, at less than normal commercial prices through the Intervention Board or other means.

EARL FERRERS

If significant surplus stocks should become available to the Intervention Board, the Government will consider whether it would be appropriate to apply the E.E.C. regulations relating to sales at reduced prices to non-profit-making organisations.
