asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he is taking to speed up the installation of computer-controlled traffic signal systems in cities and towns in view of the substantial reduction in accidents brought about by the system in West London.

The buying power of wages is affected by many factors, such as taxation, which vary with individual circumstances. The following table shows the average earnings of manual workers in manufacturing industry and agriculture for each year since 1964 and also the general index of retail prices over the same period.
