§ Rear-Admiral Morgan-Gilesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consideration he has given to the payment of attendance allowance to approved fosterparents of handicapped children.
§ Mr. DeanThere is no general bar on payment of attendance allowance to fosterparents of severely disabled children. It is not, however, considered appropriate to pay the allowance where a local authority has accepted the responsibility for accommodation, care and 193W maintenance of the child, whether the authority does so indirectly, as with fostering or admission to a voluntary home, or directly, by admission to a local authority home.
