asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what are his latest estimates of the output from North Sea oil by 1980.

Estimates of reserves and production of North Sea oil and gas are being reviewed in the light of the latest drilling results. A report to Parliament on the outcome of this review will be presented shortly.
