§ 74. Mr. Grimondasked the Secretary of State for Social Services why the Assistant Director of the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work who will be responsible for Scotland is to be located in London.
§ Sir K. JosephThis is a matter for the council. The advertisement issued recently by the council for an assistant director for Scotland specifies that in the first instance the person appointed will work from the London office of the coun-76W cil, but at a later date will be located in Edinburgh and will be required to travel to London for consultation as necessary. I understand that it is the council's intention that the assistant director will remain in London for a short period only in order to become familiar with the work of the council before moving, and active steps are being taken by the council to find suitable and permanent office accommodation in Edinburgh as soon as possible.
