HC Deb 05 March 1973 vol 852 c47W
Mr. Molyneaux

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will list the agricultural production grants currently available to Northern Ireland, and the estimated value in 1972–73.

Mr. Peter Mills

The grants available and their estimated value in 1972–73 are as follows:

£
Fertilisers 1,800,000
Lime 275,000
Calf-rearing 4,400,000
Hill cow 2,821,000
Hill sheep 429,000
Beef cow 2,315,000

In addition, some of the remoteness and special employment moneys bear an element of production support. They are not, however, primarily applied for this purpose; they are mainly devoted to marketing and protection of jobs.
