§ Mr. Tebbitasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will make a further statement on the United Nations Seminar on New Towns to be held in this country in 1973.
§ Mr. ChannonA seminar sponsored jointly by the Government and the United Nations Centre for Housing, Building and Planning will be held at Church House, Westminster from 4th to 19th June 1973. Delegates from about 50 countries are expected, of whom about half will be from developing countries. Studies will be concentrated upon the problems of fast population increase and the growth of towns. The programme includes the presentation of papers by British experts and also visits to a selection of British new towns. I welcome this special opportunity of showing to overseas countries the achievements of the new town policy in this country.
